Scrap Metal ingot is one of the resources which was first introduced when the Extinction map was released in Ark.

It can only be produced by collecting Scrap Metal which later on is processed to create the Scrap Metal Ingots.

This resource can be a good early-game substitute for Metal Ingot, as it is easy to obtain the Scrap Metal and it can be processed in a Refining Forge and later on, an Industrial Forge.

How to Craft Scrap Metal Ingot?

Scrap Metal Ingots are created by placing Scrap Metal in a Refining Forge or an Industrial Forge, processing the metal into ingots.

For every 2x Scrap Metal, 1x Scrap Metal Ingots will be created and this is done in a larger amount with an Industrial Forge, providing you with 20x Scrap Metal Ingots from 40x Scrap Metal.

Best Way to Farm Metal Ingot

To mass-produce a lot of Scrap Metal Ingots, you will need a large supply of Scrap Metal, which is easily farmed by killing Tek creatures or the Enforcers and Defense units.

Using a Chainsaw will allow you to harvest a lot of Scrap Metal as well as other resources from the bodies of the said creatures.

Scrap Metal Ingots are useful in Extinction and other maps when you start because you don't need to go looking for metal nodes and can harvest them with any tool and some creatures.

The larger the Tek creatures you kill, the more Scrap Metal you can farm to create your Scrap Metal Ingots.
